There are 25 crossword puzzles. The puzzles have nothing to do with Valentine's Day nor "her". The inside of the book says "Merry Christmas". One of the clues is "Star Trek Automoton's". Note the apostrophe. The answer is Borg, meaning the clue was meant to be "Star Trek Automotons". That was the first clue I happened to see. I haven't looked at the rest of the book, but clearly it isn't edited. My girlfriend is an English teacher. How can I give her this as a serious or even cute present? I will pretend it is a gag present; maybe we'll get some laughs out of it. (Don't worry; this isn't the only present I purchased for her.)

This little book is just awesome. It includes very comprehensible explanations. And for those who hate to get stuck...it also includes the answers at the end ;). Great entertainment!

Years ago someone gave me Blair's big book, Forbidden Keys to Persuasion. "Forbidden" is one of the few $100 books out there that I think is more than worth the money. It's unquestionably one of the most important books I've ever read.Why?"Forbidden Keys" is essentially a study of how con men and confidence rackets work, translated out into an explanation of what your hidden desires are and how triggering them allows you to be decieved or persuaded.I'm pretty street smart but "Forbidden Keys" made it obvious that I was wide open to be "had" on a number of counts...not to mention how I had been taken to the cleaners a few times in the past.This little gem we're reviewing here distills the major knowledge from "Forbidden" into a one sentence explanation of how to persuade...persude in a way that triggers those hidden desires.You'll need the rest of the background in the book to fully "get" the one sentence but this is definitely a case of simplicity being the true elegance. Not everyone can swing buying a $100 book but no one should miss this considering the price.

A great deal of declaring that "I'm going to tell you how to do it" and then fabulous stories of how the author hang-glided from Machu Pichu to the Pacific Ocean with only ten cents in his pocket. Not a whole lot of really practical advice other than making out long, arcane lists and making evaluations based on those lists. Nothing too complicated with a ton of algebra formulas, numbers, or graphs. Very straight forward in easy to read and understand information that will help you to get the horsepower to the ground and hook your car to the pavement. The book covers the most popular types of chassis; the leaf spring and coil springs/4 link(upper and lower control arms) for us older muscle car owners, and coil springs/3 link found on the late model {F-Body) Camaro & Trans-Am/Firebird. The book also covers the front suspension to include the straight front axle for those Gasser cars or hot rods, torsion bars for those Mopars, the double A-arms (found on most older cars), and the single A-arm found on the later model Mustangs and Camaro/Firebirds. With a basic understanding of each, the book then details the modifications that can be done to improve your suspension such as coil over shocks, ladder bars, traction bars, no-hop bars, shock absorber selection, preloading the chassis, pinion angles, chassis stiffening, sway bars, and track locators. Tire selection is covered as well as a great chart/guide in selecting the correct rear gear based on your cars weight, engine stroke, and transmission first gear. Are you over-geared or under-geared for maximum traction off the line? Its all here in the Making A Pass section. There is a whole section on Fine Tuning your car's suspension. You also get tips on transmission shifters, distributor add-ons & timing, torque converter selection, and more. A ton of photos and diagrams that make reading easy as examples are clearly shown that tie in with the text. The book has 128 pages that take the mystery and misunderstanding of chassis tuning and make it understandable and straight forward.

The book contains detailed information on the setup of pretty much all different types of front and rear suspension systems for drag race launch. Especially beneficial to someone getting started in the sport and with little knowledge of how a suspension system works during a drag race. Mr. Miller provides detailed description of the various ways that vehicle lift during acceleration can work for you and also work against you. Lots of photos to aid in defining the details. Although some of the information is basic, it is still beneficial as a reminder of how weight and lift interact and impact traction during acceleration.I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in any form of drag racing. Whether or not you plan to race yourself, if you enjoy watching the races, this book will help you understand exactly what happens when a vehicle launches at high rpm.

Good overview of suspension when applied to racing.

Dick Miller knows his stuff. My 66 Biscayne will be faster this year. This book explained some problems I've been having. I don't race enough to go through the learning curve. This book excelerated the process.
