This is a difficult read if you are paying attention as you go. I found myself taking it in incrementally, as in two paragraphs at a time, sometimes a page or two. You can't just read and have an opinion. You have to digest. Took me three weeks to read -- one hour at a time. That's okay. This subject is important. (I wanted to rewrite it to see if I could reduce it to one hour, because I'm pretty sure I can.)I did find that PART of the logic presented throughout the book hinges on a few immensely philosophical points that I don't think anyone can back up, even if given another 2,000 pages. They are theological to the extent that the theology is built on bits of philosophy interjected at critical points. I still recommend the book wholeheartedly as way to evaluate the age we're living in and the way we think about one another. The book will raise the quality of my marriage, which is already good.
This is an excellen book. This is a dense, but beautiful subject. Jason Evert writes beautifully and effectively, clearly demonstrating his command of the subject material. I have attempted several sources on this subject as a layperson, but none have as effectively conveyed the power and the beauty of the message of the Theology of the Body as this book does in so quick a span of time and reading. Often, when we much communicate a message quickly, we communicate it better. The point and the compelling message emerge more beautifully and effectively and more quickly than ever before. This work is worth your time and attention. Well done, Jason! Thank you!
This book was a very nice introduction to the theology of the body as brought to light by pope John Paul II . It's pages sweep through God's great plan for humanity in a refreshing manner. Many misconceptions of what it means to be human are turned on their head. Readers are taken to reflect on man before the fall, historical man, and eschatological man. Understanding the theology of the body is vital for all to live life on the fullest form.
Very good summery of TOB. Entertaining as well. Good intro but also good refresher for someone who all ready knows the material.

It is a great book with much insight provided by materials from St. John Paul II
